The company annually produces about 20.000 tons of concentrate grading at 15-16 % copper and 32-34 g/t gold. Technological recovery index of metals for copper is 94%, for gold is up to 75 %. Investigations are conducted to raise the recovery index of minerals from ore.
Annual extraction from underground mine is about 350.000 tons of ore. Extraction is performed by modern underground self-propelled vehicles, like Atlas Copco (Sweden), Tamrock (Finland), MoAZ (Belorussia) etc. Emptied underground space is completely filled up with concrete mixture equivalent to the volume of the extracted ore.
From 2003 to 2010 Base Metals cjsc has extracted about 2.4 million tons of ore and produced about 200.000 tons of copper-gold concentrate.
Today Base Metals has licenses for exploitation and conduction of geological investigations of more than two dozen deposits and mines most of which have already undergone geological exploration. Among them are both polymetallic deposits and stone mines. Base Metals company has seven licenses for stone mines and four licenses for mining and exploration activities. In some of them prospecting was done for resource estimation. Totally the company has realized geological prospecting in various mines and occurrences costing about 600 million drams.
From stone mines and deposits of construction materials the company produces two types of decorative stones, clay, sand, limestone and raw material with limestone fillings which at present are mainly used for the needs of Base Metals. Meanwhile the company is doing its best to enter the stone market in the coming future.
